The high cost of cheap translation

It certainly feels good to get a bargain on translation but if you ask for price quotes from other translation agencies you should study them carefully and take other factors into consideration.

We know that translation price is important. But not at all costs.

What is true for other sectors is also true in the translation and localization business: you always need to pay more for quality.

If the translation fee is suspiciously low, be careful, beacuse an unexperienced or unqualified "translator" can make serious mistakes.

And it costs you much more than the money you first wanted to save on translation.

An example from our experience: our client requested the proofreading and checking of a technical text (translated by another company) because they were not satisfied. We realized that the quality of the translation is really poor, some parts were not translated at all, other sections were too lengthy. Our Client paid extra costs for the proofreading and corrections and after all they paid nearly twice as much as for the original "bargain" translation.
